Tom Walker

A commercial litigation, building and construction specialist, Tom commenced his career in a Darwin law firm in 1992. He was admitted to practice in the Northern Territory in 1994 and then spent ten years living in Darwin practicing mainly in the areas of commercial law, building and construction disputes and professional indemnity insurance litigation. He returned to Adelaide in 2002 and joined Clelands in 2006.

Over his 30 years of practice Tom has acted on behalf of many builder clients, both domestic and commercial and has developed good working relationships with many expert building and quantity surveying witnesses in Adelaide. Tom also has experience in insolvency law, in particular the winding up of corporations, the setting aside of insolvent transactions and recovering preferential payments, as well as defending both types of claims. Tom has an excellent ability to explain the complexities of the legal system to his clients and is renowned for his determination, perseverance and empathy.

Outside of Clelands

Tom enjoys his time away from the law, fishing wherever possible, bike riding with his children and travelling with his family.
